German Wirehaired Pointer

The German Wirehaired Pointer is a versatile hunting breed developed in Germany in the late 1800s to work all types of terrain and game in all weather conditions. Their distinctive harsh, wiry, water-repellent coat protects them from rough terrain and cold water. GWPs are loyal and affectionate with their family but tend to be more reserved with strangers than their shorthaired cousins.
